Forging Foundation Receives Award for Education Outreach

The Forging Industry Educational and Research Foundation has been recognized by the ASM Foundation with the 2015 Pacesetter Award in recognition of the Foundation's support of Materials Camps for Teachers.  Established in 2009, the Pacesetter Award honors organizations for continued service to the ASM Materials Education Foundation and recognizes their impact in supporting educational outreach efforts that encourage young people to pursue careers in materials science and engineering.
 
The award was presented during the ASM Foundation Leadership Luncheon on October 5th during the Material Science and Technology Conference and Exposition in Columbus while the FIERF Board was meeting in Texas prior to the opening of the FIA Fall Meeting of Members.  Foundation President Al Underys videotaped an acceptance on behalf of FIERF to be played at the awards ceremony while immediate past President of the Foundation Board Rob Mayer accepted the award on behalf of the Foundation's Board and supporters.
