FIERF Launches First Ever Forging Industry Summer Camp Program
Forge the Future Campers to Learn About Metals and Manufacturing
March 7, 2023 – CLEVELAND, OH – The Forging Industry Educational & Research Foundation (FIERF) is offering their first-ever Forge the Future Summer Camp to be held July 10-11, 2023, at Cuyahoga Community College in Cleveland, OH.
Students aged 11-15 years old are invited to explore the world of forging and manufacturing through the foundation’s two -day program where they will experience hands-on learning with industry experts.
The goals of Forge the Future Camp are to:
- Expose students to manufacturing and the forging industry at a young age.
- Engage kids in activities related to STEM, and more specifically - the forging industry.
- Create memorable experiences for children in the community.
- Educate both kids and their families about manufacturing careers.
- Build the future of forging and keep the industry strong for the next generation!
Campers will have the opportunity to tour a forging facility, participate in STEAM and team building activities, and learn how to forge. Plus, the participants will get to take home their own forging.
“The best way to build up our industry is to invest in the future. Now more than ever, it is important to engage younger generations in education about manufacturing, and the many different career pathways and opportunities our industry offers,” said Angela Gibian, Executive Director of the Forging Foundation. “These summer camps are just another step in FIERF’s efforts to increase awareness and knowledge of the forging industry among students, and create a pipeline of bright, talented and engaged workers.”
Sponsorship and partner opportunities are available for the Forge the Future Camps, allowing industry and community members to engage with the campers and get involved in the programming. For more information visit www.fierf.org/summer-camps or call 216-781-6260.
