Last month, more than 85 forging industry professionals gathered at the Worthington Renaissance Fort Worth Hotel in Fort Worth, Texas, for the 2018 FIA Fall Meeting of Members. Participants heard from industry experts, shared best practices and strategized about the future of forging.
This year’s program focused on hot button topics such as workforce development, the midterm elections, tariffs, fossil fuels, millennials, digital marketing strategies and more. Keynote speakers included Armada Managing Director Dr. Christopher Kuehl, FIA Legal Counsel Thomas Beline, Advanced Manufacturing Technology Centers Executive Director Nick Graff, Maguire Energy Institute Associate Director Dr. Bernard Weinstein, TopSpot President David Underwood and Small Business Expert Gene Marks.
The FIA Fall Meeting of Members featured new safety and marketing roundtables as well as the announcement of the 2017 Safety Award winners. Attendees also enjoyed a variety of networking activities, including an authentic Texas reception and dinner at the historic Fort Worth Stockyards Station.
FIA would like to thank everyone who made this meeting possible, especially the following event sponsors: Siempelkamp L.P., Eaton Steel Bar Company, Specialty Ring Products, Inc., Finkl Steel, Ellwood City Forge - Forging Division and Scot Forge Co.
