FIA wrapped up its 2016 Management Development Institute (MDI) course with three days of learning and a graduation ceremony Nov. 13–15. The 2016 graduating class included 23 students from 16 member companies, who came to Cleveland three times throughout the year to gain understanding about management roles.
Speakers at the November session covered financial management, negotiations and professional development. Previously, students had learned about strategic planning, time management, communications, sales, marketing and human resources. Each MDI session provided information developed specifically for the forging industry. The sessions were interactive, which made it easy for attendees to develop strong relationships with their peers.
The FIA MDI course is designed to help middle managers in the forging industry learn practical skills that will help them grow within their companies. The next MDI course will be held during the second half of 2017. Registration details will be available early next year.
