Advanced Technology International signs 9-year, $333 million cooperative agreement to lead the Metals Affordability Initiative

Advanced Technology International (ATI) signed a nine-year, $333 million cooperative agreement to lead the Metals Affordability Initiative (MAI), a consortium sponsored by the U.S. Air Force Research Laboratory and cost-shared by industry. The initiative is dedicated to leveraging consolidated government and industry resources to reduce costs, accelerate implementation, and enhance the supplier base for critical turbine engine, airframe, and space components. This will be the third iteration of MAI, which was originally established in 1999. The initiative has resulted in scores of actual and anticipated improvements to defense systems.
