This is the highlight dinner of the North American forging industry, and all attendees are invited to celebrate. The evening will open with a one-hour reception, followed by dinner and dancing. Semi-formal attire is suggested (e.g. coats and ties for gentlemen).

FIA Golf Tournament

Starr Pass Golf Club

 

Rattler/Roadrunner Courses

1:00 p.m. shotgun start (a shuttle will run from the JW Marriott to the course between 12:15 and 12:45 p.m.)

Fee: $175 (includes greens fee, cart, boxed lunch and drink tickets, and prizes for contest winners; rental clubs may be reserved for $69)

Located less than a mile from the JW Marriott Starr Pass Resort, Starr Pass Golf Club is a 27-hole Arnold Palmer Signature Golf facility with a double-loaded driving range, rejuvenating 20,000-square-foot clubhouse and top-quality golf shop. Perfect your game while admiring the backdrop of natural mountain ranges.

Once registered, email Kathy Edwards at kathy@forging.org and indicate whom you would like to be placed in a foursome with. Players who have not joined a foursome by April 14 will be assigned to a group by FIA staff. Golf fees are non-refundable.

Starr Pass Golf Club is located at 3645 W. Starr Pass Blvd. Tucson, AZ. A shuttle will run from the JW Marriott lobby to the course starting at 12:15 p.m., and will be available to transport players from the course back to the resort after the outing.

Rental clubs are available for $69. Rental clubs must be reserved and paid for in advance to ensure availability. Players who bring their own clubs should check their clubs with the hotel bellman upon arrival to have clubs transported to the course. 

 

Optional Activity 1: Desert Jeep Tour Experience

An introduction to the Sonoran Desert region via naturalist/driver guided in an open air jeep. See Indian rock petro glyphs, towering Saguaro Cactus and more. Ride through the desert with the wind in your hair for fun-filled, educational, four-wheel drive tour. The tour begins when your naturalist/driver arrives at the JW Marriott Starr Pass Resort to drive you through some of the most beautiful desert surrounding Tucson. You’ll travel from civilization to primitive country inhabited only by wildlife and ghosts of days gone by. Fee is inclusive of round trip transportation, boxed lunch and water. This tour is a rain or shine event.

 

Optional Activity 2: Arizona Sonora Desert Museum Tour

The Sonora Desert Museum is recognized as a world-renowned zoo, natural history museum and botanical garden. Trip Advisor states that it is one of the Top 10 Museums in the World. This "living museum" houses over 1,200 kinds of plants and 300 species of animals that live in enclosures designed to replicate their niche in the wild. The Desert Museum is Southern Arizona's most popular visitor attraction. Nestled in Tucson Mountain Park the Desert Museum exhibits the living, outdoor world of nature found in the Sonoran Desert region. On your way to the museum, you'll drive through Saguaro National Park, which preserves the most magnificent Saguaro forest in the world. The great Sonoran Desert region is filled with natural beauty and mystery. Fee is inclusive of admissions, transportation with JW Marriott Starr Pass Destination Guide/Naturalist, boxed lunch and water. This tour is a rain or shine event.

The extremity of the terrain and the harshness of the environment makes a hike in the Tucson Mountains a unique and wonderful experience. This adventure will give you a real appreciation for the mesmerizing Arizona desert. The diversity of plants and wildlife that coexist in the Sonoran Desert, affirm the balance of nature. Your guide will share the flora and fauna and the incredible vistas. All plans are taken care of and we supply the necessary materials. Your only duty is to enjoy your visit with nature! Note* Hike is conducted close to resort and will begin at the main entrance.

 

Optional Activity 4: Old Town Artisans Shopping Trip

Fee: $85 (includes guide transportation)

Your guests will enjoy some shopping time at Old Town Artisans, located in the El Presidio Historic District and adjacent to the Tucson Museum of Art. Old Town is a restored adobe structure (circa 1860), which displays unique, beautifully handcrafted works of art. Old Town offers guests an ever-changing collection of quality, handmade arts and fine crafts, pottery and clay art, and imports from Mexico, Central and South America. Fee is inclusive of transportation, bottled water on board, and JW Marriott Starr Pass Destination Guide/Naturalist. This tour is a rain or shine event.

 

Spouse Breakfast & Tequila Infusion Demonstration

Monday, April 29

9:00–11:00 a.m.

Join fellow FIA spouses for a relaxing breakfast before taking part in a tequila infusion demonstration.

Learn all about Tequila and making fresh, flavorful Tequila infusions using fresh berries, citrus, spices, herbs and more. Participants will taste and infuse their own Tequila, and leave with a 9 ounce bottled concoction of their own.

FIA Member Executive & Spouse Early Bird (through March 30): $2,995

The meeting registration fee includes meeting materials, admittance to all speaker sessions, meals and receptions. Hotel room fees are not included in the meeting registration fee. Attendees must pay the total registration fee, whether they will be attending the full meeting or a portion thereof. The fee must be paid in advance of the meeting. Attendees must pre-register for the golf outing and tours. These items are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Children attending the Saturday or Monday dinners must pay an additional fee of $125 per child/dinner. All fees must be paid in U.S. dollars.

Room Reservations

FIA Annual Meeting attendees must book their own hotel accommodations. To reserve a room at the JW Marriott Starr Pass Resort & Spa for the FIA rate of $264/night, call 877-622-3140 and mention the Forging Industry Association.

 

The deadline to reserve a room for the FIA rate is April 4, 2019, or until sell-out. Reservations made after the deadline will be subject to the hotel’s prevailing rates and availability.

Cancellation

FIA will provide a full refund for meeting fees cancelled on or before April 19, 2019. Registrations cancelled on April 20, 21 or 22 will be refunded 50 percent. No refund is available April 23 or thereafter. Substitutions are permitted. Tour and golf fees are non-refundable. All changes, inquiries or cancellations regarding the meeting, tours or golf outing should be communicated directly to FIA. All hotel room reservations, changes or questions should be directed to the JW Marriott Starr Pass Resort & Spa

 


 

Transportation

The JW Marriott Starr Pass is located approximately 15 minutes from Tucson International Airport (TUS). The resort does not provide shuttle service. Alternate transportation is available with Starr Transportation at the rate of $45 one way. Reservation is required. Estimated taxi fare is $38 one way.
