FIERF Forging Competition

Event Date: Tuesday, May 23, 2023 to Thursday, May 25, 2023


 

 

Students and Educators, join us for the first ever FIERF Forging Competition for a hands on opportunity to learn more about forging! Teams of up to four students and one faculty advisor will compete for the chance to win recognition and prizes at this year’s Forge Fair.

 

Project:

Each team will forge (2) tuning forks to an assigned frequency

 

Schedule of Events:

November 1, 2022                  Team submissions due

May 1, 2023                            Technical Report, Poster and Photograph due

May 23-25, 2023                     Forge Fair 2023 – Items on Display (Cleveland, OH)

May 25, 2023                          Forging Contest (Cleveland, OH)

 

Prizes:

 

The competition is underway and the students have already begun researching materials and designing their forks.  Below are the participating schools and their team names.

Forge Fair Career Day

Thursday, May 25, 2023 is Forge Fair Career Day. Students and Educators can register for the Discounted Academic Rate of $50 and explore the forging industry, learn about co-ops and internships, and meet with potential employers. 

 

 

Please note: This is a one-day pass only for Thursday, May 25. If you are interested in attending the full trade show, you must register at the regular attendee rate. This pass is for students and educators only. You must be enrolled or employed at a technical school, college or university.
