Membership Information

Forging Industry Association (FIA) is a corporate membership association comprised of some 110 North American forging producers operating over 150 plants. Membership also includes more than 80 suppliers to the forging industry including companies engaged in the manufacturing, processing or distribution of steel or other forging stock, die stock, machine tools, equipment or providing consulting and engineering services and supplies commonly used in the industry.

Academic memberships available to educators at colleges and universities through the Foundation's Magnet School program.

The mission of FIA is to improve the global competitiveness of its member companies. To accomplish this goal, FIA focuses on the following:
  • Delivering industry-specific information
  • Influencing public policy
  • Driving demand for North American forgings
  • Transferring technology

Membership dues for company members are based on the annual value of forgings produced. Suppliers report sales to the North American forging industry. Page four of the membership application (pdf) contains the dues schedule based on three year averages for producer (ranging from $160 to $1000 per month) and supplier (monthly dues range from $250 - $1250) memberships.
